IELTS preparation
All four skills — Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking — trained towards the band score the student actually needs.
Ask about this programmeListening
About 30 minutes, four recordings, 40 questions.
Reading
60 minutes, 40 questions. The Academic version uses three long passages from books, journals and newspapers.
Writing
60 minutes, two tasks: a data or letter task, and an essay.
Speaking
11–14 minutes, a face-to-face interview with an examiner, in three parts.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is the world’s most widely taken English proficiency test for study, work and migration, with more than two million candidates a year.
Test structure
Each skill is scored on a 0–9 band scale, alongside an overall band score.
The computer-delivered and paper tests cover the same content and use the same scale; the computer version has more test dates and returns results in 1–5 days rather than about 13. If only one skill falls short of the band required, One Skill Retake lets the student re-sit that single skill instead of the whole test (computer-delivered only).
There are two versions: Academic (for university study) and General Training (for migration and some vocational programmes). Sitting the wrong one costs both the fee and the time, so confirm what the university or authority requires before booking.
